As powder is just starting to arrive around Europe I have been checking options for a freeride-trip. Here is a good overview taken from luex.com – also easy if you are traveling alone. They also have some packages for Argentina though… to extend the season! But to begin with and looking just around the corner, this is a selection of the top 10 european spots! 

1 Parom Freeride Camp Chamonix

As the extreme sports capital of the world, Chamonix needs no introduction; its towering mountains and spires of twisted rock speak for themselves. However, you may need an introduction to the vast amount of freeride terrain in the area, and that’s where Parom Camps come in.

Standard Ski Week Skiers Lodge La Grave

La Grave is probably the most raw ski area on the planet. The famous téléphérique rises from the village to the Col des Ruillans at 3200 metres on the magnificent La Meije (3982m). The entire ski area is unpisted with no formal avalanche control: this is real wilderness freeriding in some of the most rugged terrain in the world. You’ll the chance to score epic descents of up to 2150 vertical metres, such as the infamous Trifides couloirs, and the Pan du Rideau and Y-Couloir. Les Arcs Freeski Camp

Les Arcs and the Paradiski area is one of Europer’s biggest ski resorts, and equally has some of the most diverse freeride terrain found anywhere on the planet. You’ll find 2000 vertical metre descents, steep couloirs, Alaska-esque big faces, tight tree skiing and fun pillow lines. I have been to Les Arcs and started my first freeride experiences there – just the perfect spot!

9 Tarentaise Freeski Trip

Some of the world’s biggest and best ski resorts are in the Tarentaise, including Tignes and Val d’Isere, and amongst the pistes you’ll find vast swathes of epic freeride terrain.
